On October 17th, AINS hosted its 13th Annual FOIAXpress User Conference & Technology Summit at the Marriott Metro Center in Washington, D.C. This year’s event also marked the 1st Annual eCase User Conference & Technology Summit.
For FOIAXpress attendees, this year’s conference showcased the latest version of FOIAXpress (FOIAXpress v10.3), an add-on module to FOIAXpress specializing in document review (FOIAXpress EDR), and integration between the public access link portal (FOIAXpress PAL) and the FOIA National Portal. AINS was also proud to welcome back FOIA Instructor Dick Huff to provide helpful information regarding solution troubleshooting, tackling search issues, and recent significant FOIA decisions.
The eCase user conference provided an overview of the eCase Platform as well as demonstrations of the various commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications built on the platform, such as eCase Audit, eCase Investigations, eCase HR, and eCase Correspondence. These COTS applications are built from the ground up to manage an organization’s audit, investigations, human resources, and correspondence processes.

This year’s Wayne R. Jewell award, which honors the late AINS Vice President and his contributions to his internal team and AINS customers, was presented to Darrick Latimer, a Technology and Information Specialist for the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Darrick performed a significant role in the FTC’s transition to using FOIAXpress for processing and responding to Freedom of Information requests and we are proud to have awarded him this honor. to We strongly encourage all government employees to join us at next year’s user conference for a chance to be our next winner, as well as to learn from and network with the best and brightest in case management and open government solutions.

We are happy to announce that we will host the 14th Annual FOIAXpress and 2nd Annual eCase User Conference & Technology Summit on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019 at the Marriott Metro Center in Washington, D.C.
